that's not a fair analogy
the sun is an inanimate object, incapable of change
people have conscience and feelings, and are capable of improving
even the mentally disabled. But by dumb, I figure you refer to the ignorant, or something, and not those with severe mental difficulties
it's easier said than done not to get frustrated. Just let them be right. Then politely explain your differences and ask what could you do to change their mind or have them understand where you are coming from
If they say nothing, then don't waste your time. Now you can be the better person and avert your gaze
but it does takes less energy (if not healthier) to just get acknowledge that you are upset with them and ignore them
